THE YEAR OF HENPECK

Last summer (2019, because the summer of 2020 did not really happen I don’t think) we found the the golden goose, an unflipped house on 4 acres in the heart of Franklin, TN. If you know this area, you know that is unheard of. So, because timing is everything…just before the world started crumbling, we took on an ENORMOUS and insane flip - turning a 1970s mid century ranch in to our forever, dream home.

And here she is in all her stone ugliness -

Aww, we look so optimistic haha!

Yea, if you’re looking for windows, there aren’t any. It was basically a stone fort.

It also had low ceilings, narrow hallways, mold, overgrown landscaping, a mysterious skunk smell and dangerous radon levels. Awesome, right? haha! Well, even with all of that, we saw the potential. I was in love with the location, the land, the screened in porch and the walk out basement.

We kept the footprint (so technically, it was still a remodel) added square footage by adding a second story and turned the garage into a finished studio room with separate entrance and bathroom.

And ten stressful months later….our design came together.
