Doing laundry stinks. Literally. And we have four kids, so it’s CONSTANT in our house.

I figured I spend so much time in our laundry coffin, I mean laundry room, I might as well make the most of it.

So, here’s the “before” (actually, we added those uppers ourselves. The true “before” was just nothing but a fluorescent light).

I knew I wanted side-by-side washer and dryer for the counter space to fold, stack and iron. So, for that we just did a simple stained spruce in a waterfall design. The backsplash is the same marble stacked tile we put in our kitchen - I love continuity! In the left corner we added 4 cubbies, with wicker baskets from pier one. Great in theory, but lets be honest, the baskets are always 80% full and my kids just pick through them each day to find what they want to wear instead of actually putting their clothes away. UGGH! And, am I the only person who just refuses to spend time matching socks? We have an entire basket for just unmatched socks. … Don’t judge.

The upper cabinets are for beach towels and junk I want to hide. The large ikea plant is to hide my ugly electrical outlets and water lines.

And my favorite element? My stool. I feel like an old lady, but I could not do laundry without my little stool from this etsy shop.

So, here it is! I can’t believe I’m even saying this - but I actually don’t mind doing laundry now. It’s amazing how a pretty space can transform your mood. Stain removal has never been so sweet.
